Join this motivational and active program to learn basketball fundamentals as well as prepare to play in actual games. Many age-appropriate drills, games, and contests will be included every session. This program is offered through Vikings Girls Basketball Club and supported by the High School program as well as Community Education. Leaders will keep these young players excited about basketball, gently transition into games and tournaments, and introduce them to older players! All players will receive a new basketball and jersey! Girls can wear their jerseys to home Girls Basketball games and get into the game free with paid adult! Deadline to register October 25.
Participants will have the exciting opportunity to scrimmage up to two schools in a friendly format with no officials or scoreboard and coaches will be on the court to work through game situations. At the end of the year, the team will have the opportunity to play two tournaments with officials and a scoreboard. Teams will play three games each tournament. (Scrimmages may be home or away, within a 30 mile radius, and the tournament will be at a metro area school.)
One head coach and one assistant coach will have player fee reimbursed at the end of the season (according to the expectations outlined in the bylaws of the VGBC). If you would like to help coach don't be nervous or intimidated, coaches will be supported and trained by VGBC and HS coaches.
