Children interested in learning to play the piano have an opportunity to learn in a friendly, individualized setting, using the Bastien Piano Basics series. This comprehensive method is designed to get young students off to the right start in piano. Basic piano/musical concepts, such as rhythm patterns, intervals, chords, scales and essential signs and terms, are introduced and gradually developed and reinforced through creative, enjoyable, illustrated piano arrangements which highlight each concept. Students will be led, encouraged and evaluated through the Bastien series; however, practice and encouragement at home will play a vital role in each student's success. One set of 4 Bastien books are required for each level, at a cost of about $25 per set. Call the community education office 651-674-1025 for availability.
