Description:
Join this engaging and educational program to learn basketball fundamentals as well as prepare to play in actual games. Many age-appropriate drills, games and contests will be included. This program is offered through Vikings Girls Basketball Club and supported by the NBHS Girls Basketball players. The group will gently transition into games and tournaments, and work with older players! Girls will receive a new basketball and jersey which can be worn at Girls Basketball home games and get into the game free with paid adult. Deadline to register October 25.
Games/Scrimmages:
Participants will have the exciting opportunity to scrimmage up to two schools in a friendly format with no officials or scoreboard. Coaches will be on the court to work through game situations. At the end of the year, the team will have the opportunity to play one recreational tournament to showcase their talents. (Scrimmages may be home or away, within a 30 mile radius, and the tournament will be at a metro area school.)
Coaches Wanted:
One head coach and one assistant coach will have player fee reimbursed at the end of the season (according to expectations outlined in bylaws by VGBC). If you would like to help coach don't be nervous or intimidated, coaches will be supported and trained by the VGBC and HS coaches. Please contact Community Ed at 651-674-1025 if interested.
